Bible Passage: 1 Corinthians 8:1-13
Convictions: have you ever known someone who is absolutely convinced that they are right? That they have all the answers? Black and white people? How do YOU know if you’re right or wrong?
Do’s and don’ts; rights and wrongs–are there religious rules—yes or no? after all, we DO have the 10 Commandments!
True love consists in “doing *well* for the other one,” not exercising your own “rights” or enforcing them on others. Which should it be? Making sure people are right or letting them do their own thing?
The real issue is the heart of the matter. How we treat others who might believe and behave differently than we do.
John Wesley said:
“As to all opinions which do not strike at the root of Christianity, we think and let think.”
“And In essentials, unity; in non-essentials, liberty; in all things, charity.”
